The Mofidi 4,000 L/min Rotary Screw Air Compressor (model CS 4000) uses a RotorComp EVO 6 air end made in Germany and a 30 kW (40 HP) motor, delivering between 3,800 and 5,040 L/min of compressed air depending on the selected working pressure. This model is designed for medium-sized factories and production lines where many machines and tools run from one compressed air network at the same time, and an air outage means a production stop. Below you will find its full specifications, how it works, applications, how to choose the working pressure, and maintenance tips.

Mofidi 4,000 L/min Rotary Screw Air Compressor – Technical Specifications

Specification Value
Model CS 4000
Compressor type Rotary screw
Air end RotorComp EVO 6, Germany
Inlet valve (unloader) VMC, Italy
Motor power 30 kW (40 HP)
Working pressure options 7 bar (101 psi), 10 bar (145 psi) or 13 bar (188.5 psi)
Free air delivery at 7 bar 5,040 L/min (5.04 m³/min)
Free air delivery at 10 bar 4,400 L/min (4.4 m³/min)
Free air delivery at 13 bar 3,800 L/min (3.8 m³/min)
Dimensions 100 × 100 × 150 cm

The “4,000 L/min” in the model name is the nominal capacity. Actual air delivery depends on working pressure: the higher the pressure, the less air is delivered per minute.

How Does the 4,000 L/min rotary screw air compressor Work?

The heart of every screw compressor is its air end. The Mofidi CS 4000 uses a RotorComp EVO 6 air end from Germany. Inside it, a male and a female helical rotor turn at high speed in opposite directions. Air enters through the inlet valve into the spaces between the rotor lobes and, as it moves along the rotors, its volume decreases and its pressure rises.

Oil injected into the air end seals the clearances between the rotors and absorbs the heat of compression. The oil is then separated from the air in the separator tank and air/oil separator filter, cooled and returned to the circuit. The result is continuous, pulsation-free compressed air — unlike a piston compressor, which delivers air in strokes.

Key Components and Build Quality

  • RotorComp EVO 6 air end (Germany): the core of air production, with a direct impact on efficiency, noise and service life.
  • VMC inlet valve (Italy): controls air intake and reduces pressure losses during start-up and operation.
  • 30 kW (40 HP) motor: matched to the air end capacity for stable output over long running hours.
  • 100 × 100 × 150 cm cabinet: a compact enclosure that is easy to install in a compressor room or next to the production line.

Applications of the 4,000 L/min rotary screw air compressor

  • Plastic injection molding lines
  • Industrial automation, instrumentation and pneumatics
  • Textile and packaging industries
  • Metalworking and parts manufacturing
  • Feeding booster compressors for high-pressure lines

Choosing the Right Working Pressure: 7, 10 or 13 bar?

The CS 4000 is available in three working pressures. It delivers 5,040 L/min at 7 bar, 4,400 L/min at 10 bar and 3,800 L/min at 13 bar — so raising the pressure from 7 to 13 bar reduces air delivery by about 25%.

Choose the working pressure based on the highest pressure your equipment actually needs plus pipeline pressure drop, and no more. Excess pressure not only reduces flow but also increases energy consumption. Most air tools and pneumatic systems run at 6–7 bar; 10 and 13 bar are for equipment whose manufacturer specifies a higher pressure.

Is This Capacity Right for You?

Add up the air consumption (in L/min) of all tools and machines that run at the same time, using their datasheets, then add around 20–30% for leaks and future growth. If the result is close to the CS 4000’s delivery at your working pressure, this model is a good fit. If your demand is lower, the 3,000 L/min screw compressor (30 HP) costs less to buy and run. If you plan to expand production, the 5,000 L/min screw compressor (50 HP) gives you more capacity.

Advantages of Screw Compressors over Piston Compressors

  • Continuous, pulsation-free air for sensitive equipment
  • Designed for long running hours and multiple shifts
  • Lower noise and vibration thanks to rotary motion
  • Better efficiency at high capacities and predictable maintenance costs

Recommended Accessories

For a complete compressed air system, use the CS 4000 together with an air receiver tank to store air and smooth pressure fluctuations, a refrigerated air dryer or desiccant air dryer to remove moisture, and a microfilter for fine particles and oil aerosols. Size these accessories to match the compressor’s air delivery.

Maintenance and Service Tips

  • Replace the air filter, oil filter and separator filter according to the manufacturer’s schedule
  • Check oil level and condition regularly and use screw compressor oil
  • Keep the cooler clean and the compressor room well ventilated
  • Drain condensate from the tank and air lines regularly
